Compassion in a Box is giving away Thanksgiving food boxes at Neon First Church of God right now. There are still 75 boxes left if you would like to come and pick one up.
This is a reminder that ESS (Extended School Services) will be held on Tuesdays and Thursday starting immediately after school and lasting until 4:00 PM.
Extended School Services will begin on September 12, 2023 and continue on every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 4:00 PM. No transportation will be provided.

Tomorrow will be the first day of school for all students in Letcher County Public Schools with the exception of West Whitesburg Elementary and Whitesburg Middle School.
We have all been anxiously awaiting the opening of West Whitesburg Elementary School, and it is looking great. However, we want to put the finishing touches on the space and have decided to push the start date for WWE and WMS until Wednesday, August 16.
We appreciate your patience with us as we make final preparations to welcome back our Yellow Jackets.

Opening Day for Letcher County Public Schools for all staff will be on Monday, August 7, at Letcher County Central High School, with breakfast starting at 6:30 and activities starting at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium. Teachers, please bring your Chromebooks. We look forward to seeing you there!

On Monday, August 7th, you’ll have the opportunity to do all of those things plus receive important information and resources. For the first time in years, this will be a traditional, open house format where both students and parents get to come into our school.
6th grade will be from 6:00-6:45 and will be done separately from other grades because their orientation is a bit more detailed than other grades.
7th and 8th grade students will get to come and receive their schedules from 6:45-7:30.
