We have been communicating with the Neon Water Company and as of now, we will have school at Martha Jane Potter and Fleming Neon Middle on Friday, January 5th. All Letcher County Schools will be on the Regular Schedule for Friday, January 5, 2024.
Letcher County Central High School buses will run their regular routes tomorrow. If you live in the Martha Jane Potter and Fleming Neon areas, the buses may be a few minutes early due to not having as many stops along their routes. Please try to be ready and watching for the bus a few minutes early. Thank you.

Due to inclement weather, Letcher County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. All classes are canceled for tomorrow.
Due to the weather forecast for later today, the Letcher County Schools will be dismissing at noon, today, December 18, 2023.
Bus #1121, Keith Baker's route thru Kingdom Come creek, UZ, Hwy 3401, will be running about 20 minutes late this morning
We have a few late buses this morning. Bus 513, Freddy Terry, in Eolia is 15-20 minutes late
Bus 615, Joe McCray, is 10-15 minutes later
Bus 206, Josh Webb, is 15 minutes late

We are combining bus #1822 and #815 (Beth Terry's) routes in the mornings only. There will only be one bus in the Gordon and Linefork area. Bus 1822 will begin student pickups on Hwy 510 (Gordon) at 6:35am Bus 1822 will then travel Hwy 463 to Stagger Weed Road and then proceed on to Hwy 160 making stops then to Hwy 931 on to Cowan Elementary School.
Students at Fleming Neon Middle School ONLY will be released today at 12:00 Noon due to a power outage.
Bus 206- driver Josh Webb- has a sub this morning and will be approximately 15-20 minutes late. Please be out where the driver can see you. Thank you

The CSX representative has informed us the tracks at Letcher school should be open in time for school dismissal. If for some reason it is delayed, I will let you know.
Tracks at Colson will be closed tomorrow after 8:00AM and they will advise us tomorrow if they will be reopened at dismissal time.
Students who ride bus 206 will be picked up 30-45 minutes late this morning
This route is in the Dean, Indian Creek, Beaver Dam, Rte 1410 and highway 7 to Letcher.
CSX representative told us they will not close the tracks at Letcher until 8:00 AM. Buses will run at the normal time this morning.
This afternoon buses will have to reroute around the railroad closure on Hwy 7
